To request an update to your residency and/or citizenship status you must complete the Update your Permanent Address & Residency Details form. It must be accompanied with the required certified documents as evidence in support of your request. You are able to do this if you are a current student or an applicant.

The following documentation is acceptable as evidence of your new status:
Australian citizenship:
  • Australian citizenship certificate
  • Australian passport
New Zealand citizenship:
  • New Zealand citizenship certificate
  • New Zealand passport
Permanent or temporary residency status:
  • International passport and evidence of visa entitlement
  • Immicard and evidence of visa entitlement
  • Document for travel to Australia (with endorsed visa label)
Note: If you hold a Student Visa and you have been granted a Temporary Resident Visa, you can update your visa status by sending a copy of your visa grant notice via email to Swinburne's ESOS Compliance team at intlcompliance@swinburne.edu.au
