With recent legislative changes, universities across Australia are working to build shared expectations around key topics that shape our communities and our students' university experience.
At Swinburne, we have developed two modules: Talking About Consent and Academic Integrity to support your success at Swinburne by promoting respect, ethical conduct, and integrity in your study and future career. These modules help students understand what is expected of them as members of the Swinburne community, and highlight the importance of consent, respect, and critical thinking during your time at Swinburne and in your future work.
Watch this short video to see how they help support you at Swinburne and beyond.

Who has to complete these modules?
These modules must be completed by all Higher Education students starting a new undergraduate or postgraduate course in 2025 and beyond. Other groups of students will also be invited to complete one or both modules to support their studies.
When do I have to complete this module by?
This module must be completed by the end of your first teaching period (Semester 1 or Semester 2).
What happens if I do not complete this module?
If you don’t complete these modules by the due date, you won’t be able to view your results.
You can still complete the modules after the due date, but your results will appear a few days later.
Will non-completion of these modules affect my re-enrolment in upcoming teaching periods?
No, you can still enrol in units for future teaching periods. However, you will not be able to see your results until both modules are complete. This may affect how you plan your units or the order you want to take them in.
Completing the modules now means your results will be ready on Results Release Day. This will help you plan your studies and enrol with confidence.
