What’s the difference between majors, co-majors, minors, advanced minors and core units?

Your course is made up of different sets of units (subjects). Here's what each one means:

• Major – A major is your main area of study. It's made up of 8 units (100 credit points).

• Second Major – An optional second set of 8 units (100 credit points) in another area of study within your course. Example: A Bachelor of Business student choosing a second business discipline.

• Co-major – 8 units (100 credit points) in a study area outside your main course.
  Example: A Bachelor of Business student taking a co-major in Chemistry.

• Minor – A smaller study sequence made up of 5 units (50 credit points).

• Advanced minor – 4 units (50 credit points) that build on what you've learned in your major.

• Core units – Mandatory units you need to complete as a part of your course.
