Under the National Code, if you are an international student on a student visa, you must stay with your original education provider for the first six months of your principal course, unless you’re provided a release letter.
Some things you should know:
- If you have received a package offer including multiple courses, your principal course is the final course in that package.
- After completing the first six calendar months of your principal course, you can transfer to another provider without needing a release.
- A release letter can be requested as part of a course withdrawal application.
- However, education providers can only provide a release if the change meets specific educational requirements. Release is not guaranteed
WARNING: Be sure to indicate on your application if you do not/still wish your withdrawal to be processed if a release is not granted.
